Akhil Reed Amar
Southmayd Professor of Law at Yale Law School, Akhil Amar is the second youngest person to be tenured and given a chair in the school's history. He was a 4.0 Phi Beta Kappa at Yale College, where he majored in history and economics, won many prizes, and was a star debater. At Law School, he was editor of the Yale Law Journal. Respected as a brilliant constitutional scholar and admired across the political spectrum, he is a frequent legal commentator on radio and TV. He is the author of three distinguished scholarly books, has been cited by the Supreme Court more often than any other scholar under 45, and is one of the most frequently quoted academics in America. He is also a consultant to the popular television show The West Wing, and serves on the Board of Directors for he National Constitution Center.
