Charles Hill

Charles Hill

A career minister in the U.S. Foreign Service, Charles Hill is a diplomat in residence and Distinguished Fellow in International Studies at Yale University, where he teaches a course in Grand Strategy with professors Paul Kennedy and John Lewis Gaddis. Hill was chief of staff of the State Department (1983-84), executive aide to former U.S. Secretary of State George P. Shultz (1985–89), and from 1992 to 1996 served as special consultant on policy to the Secretary– General of the United Nations, Boutros Boutros– Ghali, with whom he collaborated on two books.
