Theodore Dalrymple, M.D.
Theodore Dalrymple is the pen name of Anthony Daniels, who has worked for years as a doctor and psychiatrist in a Birmingham hospital and prison. He writes the "Second Opinion" column in The Spectator and pieces for the Daily Telegraph's opinion pages in the U.K. and for The New Criterion and City Journal in the U.S. He has published two previous books, both with Ivan R. Dee and both collections of his pieces: LIFE AT THE BOTTOM: The Worldview That Makes the Underclass (2003) and OUR CULTURE, WHAT'S LEFT OF IT: The Mandarins and the Masses (2005).
