Ian Ayres and Barry Nalebuff

Ian Ayres

Ian Ayres is an econometrician and lawyer. He is this William K. Townsend Professor at Yale Law School, a professor at Yale's School of Management, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a regular commentator on public radio's Marketplace and a columnist for Forbes magazine; his op-eds have appeared in the New York Times. He is currently the editor of the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization and has written eight books and more than a hundred articles.

Barry Nalebuff

Barry Nalebuff is the Milton Steinbach Professor of Economics and Management at the Yale School of Management, where he teaches strategy, game theory, innovation, and negotiation. Nalebuff is the author of 50 scholarly articles and has been an associate editor of five academic journals.

He is the co-author, with Avinash Dixit, of THINKING STRATEGICALLY: The Competitive Edge in Business, Politics, and Everyday Life and of THE ART AND SCIENCE OF STRATEGY. With Adam Brandenburger, he is the coauthor of CO-OPETITION, a Business Week and New York Times Business bestseller. And with Ian Ayres, he is the author of WHY NOT?.

Before coming to Yale, Nalebuff taught in the economics department at Princeton and was a Junior Fellow at Harvard University’s Society of Fellows. He earned undergraduate degrees in economics and mathematics from M.I.T. and a D. Phil. in economics from Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He is the co-founder and chairman of Honest Tea.
